Docema produces historical documentary films featuring extraordinary computer graphic simulations, unique expert interviews, and carefully researched recreations.

Our current project is the series Broadside: The Influence of Sea Power on History. The first episode tells the story of the worldwide Anglo-Dutch conflicts of the 17th century and shows "How New Amsterdam became New York." Early versions of its magnificent computer animations can be seen at: www.BroadsideTheFilm.com.

Did you see Master and Commander? A good movie, but at the peak of its naval action was a lonely British frigate in the Pacific battling a slightly larger French vessel... with history indifferent to both the ships and the outcome. By contrast, viewers of Broadside will see and feel the impact of two hundred Dutch and English battleships, in miles-long formations, fighting desperately and violently over who will dominate world trade for the next two hundred years.

Damrell's Fire, a compelling documentary about America's century-long battle against city-destroying fire, aired nationwide in April and May 2006. The story explores the remarkable life of John S. Damrell and the fire that changed firefighting forever. For more information, visit www.DamrellsFire.com.
